Full Day Cape Point Tour from R520 - £35 per person

Pick up from hotel at 09h15.

We depart Cape Town and make our way along Victoria Drive to Hout Bay. Here you have the option to take a scenic boat ride to Seal Island where you can view the gathering of seal colonies(extra R45.00pp).

From here we travel along Chapman's Peak drive. It is one of the worlds most spectacular drives. There are breathtaking sea views to be seen along this drive.

As we descend, we enter into the town of Kommetjie with its wonderful, wide beach with interesting rocky patches.

Driving through Kommetjie, we make our way towards Cape Point Nature Reserve. Visitors can take a hiking trail down to Cape of Good Hope where the two oceans meet. This fascinating walk  from Cape Maclear to Dias Look Out Point at the tip of Cape Point is unique in that one not only walks along the highest sea cliffs in Africa but also on the South-Western most tip of the continent.  A truly amazing landscape.

The Cape of Good Hope is home to at least 250 species of birds and some herds of Zebra. Various indigenous plant species can be found here. There are also many picnic spots along the way.

Next we take a visit to Simons town. Along the road towards Simons Town you are very likely to come across the resident troop of baboons who rule the road.

Simons Town is a Naval Base and has a wide variety of interesting historic buildings. Nearby, visitors perceive the sheltered little beach at Boulders which is home to a thriving colony of Jackass penguins.

Although set in the midst of a residential area, it is one of the few sites where this vulnerable bird can be observed at close range, wandering freely in a protected natural environment. After spending some time observing them, we leisurely make our way back to Cape Town.

White Shark Diving

In South Africa, we have the privilege of access to Great White Sharks - if you know when and where to go.

And now the general public, too, can enjoy first-hand experience of the Great White Shark. Observing and diving with Great White Sharks under the correct conditions and guidance is a wonderful experience. Even 'anti-shark' people return from an expedition or diving trip with love, and certainly respect, for this creature.

White Shark Projects is without doubt the most successful White Shark Dive Organisation in the world: Working in the unique marine area off the Southern Cape coast, our skippers log more contact with Great White Sharks than anyone else worldwide.

This is our day

Pickup and scenic transfer

We collect you from Cape Town or Hermanus and drive you to 'White Shark Lodge', our home base in Kleinbaai.

  • Breakfast at our stunning Lodge
Our continental breakfast consists of yoghurt, cereals, toast and cold meats, tea and coffee.
  • Day at sea and a lecture on board
The skipper of the day gives a short lecture on shark anatomy and behaviour. He explains how we work with the sharks in the area. We spend 4 to 6 hours at sea, depending on the frequency of shark visits to the boat.
  • Diving and viewing
Our cage takes 2 to 3 people at a time. Each person spends approximately 20 minutes in the cage. All scuba equipment, including 7mm wetsuits, is provided - you don't need a scuba licence to cage dive.
  • Lunch on board
Our lunch boxes are packed with bread rolls (with a variety of fillings), sweets, crisps and assorted juices and soft drinks.

Afternoon tea
Upon our return to the harbour, you are invited to tea, coffee, biscuits or scones at our Lodge.
